The Connecticut Office of the Attorney General announced new settlements in a multistate lawsuit involving generic prescription drugs, addressing alleged price inflation and potential financial relief for eligible consumers in Connecticut and across the United States.

The settlements involve Bausch Health US, LLC, Bausch Health Americas, Inc., and Lannett Company, Inc., following lawsuits brought by State Attorneys General. The cases allege that multiple drug manufacturers unlawfully agreed to fix prices for numerous generic prescription drugs, increasing costs for consumers and purchasers. The lawsuits do not question the safety or effectiveness of the medications.

According to the announcement, individuals may be eligible if they purchased certain generic prescription drugs between May 1, 2009 and December 31, 2019, and reside in a participating state or territory. A full list of eligible drugs and requirements is available through the designated website or toll-free number.

The settling defendants will contribute approximately $17.8 million to a Settlement Fund. Of that amount, $12.6 million is designated for distribution to eligible claimants, while $5.2 million will support administration and litigation costs, subject to court approval.

State Attorneys General continue pursuing claims against additional manufacturers, with expectations of further settlements contributing to the fund. The claims process will open at a later date.  For more information visit: www.AGGenericDrugs.com.
