Rheumatology Specialists of Connecticut has partnered with Elevate Health Technologies to introduce in-office medication dispensing at the practice, allowing patients managing complex rheumatologic conditions to receive medications directly at the point of care rather than through specialty pharmacy channels.
The arrangement uses Elevate Health Technologies' OnePulse Connect platform, a solution combining proprietary technology with operational and clinical support. Known as Medically Integrated Dispensing, or MID, the model moves medication fulfillment out of the pharmacy pipeline and into the clinical setting, with the goal of reducing time-to-therapy and easing the administrative burden patients face when navigating specialty pharmacy fulfillment.
"Having active inflammation caused by autoimmune diseases or rheumatologic conditions is akin to having a fire in your home. Consistent and timely access to medications is critical to 'putting out' the inflammation. Partnering with Elevate Health Technologies allows us to bring enhanced medication access directly into our practice, making the experience simpler and less stressful for the people who need it most," said Dr. Timothy Quan of Rheumatology Specialists of Connecticut.
For patients with autoimmune and rheumatologic conditions, timely access to medication carries direct clinical implications. Delays in therapy can allow inflammation to progress, compounding the challenges of managing chronic disease. By integrating dispensing within the practice, Rheumatology Specialists of Connecticut aims to keep medication access connected to the clinical relationship patients have already established.
