Saint Francis Hospital was named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for the 14th consecutive year, while Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital earned its first High Performing rehabilitation hospital recognition in the 2026-27 rankings.
Saint Francis was recognized as High Performing in nine specialties: aortic aneurysm repair, colon cancer surgery, heart attack, hip replacement, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, maternity care, pacemaker implantation, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals on objective measures including risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care, drawing on data from over 800 million patient care records. Best Regional Hospitals are general hospitals earning a High Performing rating in at least nine procedures and conditions.

This year marked the debut of regional specialty rankings in cancer, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, orthopedics, and rehabilitation, giving patients a new way to evaluate local options.
