Beyond Words Language & Cognition, founded by speech-language pathologist Melissa Katz, MS, CCC-SLP, in Weston, is now serving adults statewide through private teletherapy for communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders related to neurological conditions.
"When my family moved to Connecticut, I saw a need for specialized speech, language and cognitive therapy for adults, and it felt like the right time to take that step," Katz said. "The idea of starting my own practice had been in the back of my mind for years."
Katz provides evidence-based therapy for adults recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, dementia, and other neurological conditions. Services include speech and language therapy, cognitive-communication rehabilitation, voice therapy, swallowing treatment, caregiver education, and cognitive wellness programs.
Beyond Words Language & Cognition is a private-pay practice offering individualized teletherapy to adults throughout Connecticut. In addition to one-on-one treatment, the practice provides educational presentations for community organizations and healthcare professionals focused on brain health, communication, and cognitive wellness.
"Beyond Words Language & Cognition allows me to provide personalized care focused on helping people to feel more confident, connected, and independent in their everyday lives," Katz said.
